Occasional lying is still necessary. It’s a social tool that keeps the peace. Motivated by helping out fellow people and helping them have a better day, have a more fulfilling day, a more fulfilling life.
Normal lies are defensive, and are told to avoid the consequences of truth telling. They are often white lies that spare another feelings, reflect a pro-social attitude, and make civilized human contact possible. |
(excessive) can open a window into deeper psychological disorder.
Two categories of this psychological lying disorder: 1. Compulsive Lying Disorder (CLD) CLD is frequently confused with PLD, but different. Both compulsive and pathological lying is associated with antisocial personality disorder, more commonly known as “psychopathic behavior”. |
Compulsive Lying Disorder (CLD)
Compulsive liars engage in dishonesty because it is their automatic response to questions and situations. CLD is frequent unnecessary dishonesty. In the majority of situations in which this question is asked there is no logical reason for answering dishonestly, yet a compulsive liar will automatically. It seems like they can not control themselves not to tell a lie for anything and everything. Pathological Lying Disorder (PLD)
Pathological liars do so in order to manipulate other people and achieve their goals, disregard for the feelings of others. They will study other, often sociopath, lacks empathy, manipulative, does not care anything about other feelings and never will, exhibit strange behaviors (usually people show discomfort when caught lying, while pathological liars either show no discomfort at all or become aggressive and angry. It depends to the personality of each person). They believes they are smarter than everyone and will never be found out. |
Mythomania is a condition where a person has a tendency to lie, exaggerate, and even have high imagination as if it actually happened. |
We often find liars ranging from mild to severe grade. Actually boasting is an action to make other people feel interested and feel amazed about ourselves. But done by lying and exaggerating even fabricated nonsense stories. The lie that we often hear is usually about having something that nonsense and lies about the status, income and social circumstances. Perhaps boasting is normal when only happened once, twice or three times. What about people who are called “no day without bragging?” |
