Internet-Chat-room Addiction

There are various addictions, but here I am going to tell you how I became a chat-room addiction for almost 2 years (2014 – 2016).

Chat-room addiction includes the 12 symptoms listed:

Anxiety if access to computer denied

Angry if connection freeze

Persistent need to spend excessive amount of time on the computer

Neglecting other duties in order to spend time on the computer

Forgoing social activities in order to spend time on the computer

Neglecting family relationships in order to spend time on the computer

Compulsive need to spend time on the computer

Feeling empty when not at the computer

Feeling irritable when not at the computer

Feeling kind of depressed when not at the computer

Lying to other people about amount of time spent on the computer

Social isolation – prefer to chat online instead of being with people in real life, as behaving is needed.

If we feel some of the symptoms are mentioned, it is called internet-chat-room addiction.

Few months ago the chat-room’s server I used to join daily for nearly 2 years had been closed down for good.

Tell the truth, kinda missed that room, and tried to join a new server chat-room. But the people I used to have fun with have been disappeared and gone, slowly I tried to reduce my coming to that new chat-room and I don’t feel the strong symptoms anymore.

Last time before I decided to stop my chat-room addiction, there’s someone I truly like.
The problem is, that one has been into chat-room addiction more than 10 years, so I doubt that one can stop from addiction.
Apparently, that one maybe doesn’t want real life anymore, just enjoying the online. Well, too bad.
